User Based Insurance and Privacy

Toronto Privacy Lawyer, Gil Zvulony was a panelist at the Telematics Canada Conference 2014.  Telematics are gps type devices that track a vehicle’s speed, location, and other vehicle metrics.  Insurance companies are introducing these devices into vehicles as part of their “usage based insurance” programs.

The Telelmatics Conference was a two day event dedicated to the exploration of the many issues surrounding telematic devices.   Gil Zvulony was part of a panel discussion that focused on some of the potential legal issues surrounding the usage of such devices such as privacy, data ownership, and sharing of information for legal purposes. such as civil or criminal proceedings.
